Hebrews 11:8–10

Living a life of faith is like balancing on a tightrope, needing strength, steadiness, bravery, and calm. Abraham, who is respected by many religions, shows us how to do this by overcoming tough times. His life shows us that listening to God and following His direction, and dreaming of a city built by God, are key to living a strong, faith-filled life.

1. He answered the call

Abraham and Moses teach us the value of answering when God calls us. This challenges the usual way of just copying what others do and helps us to think deeply about our own actions and purpose. It’s really important to put our relationship with God first, knowing that physical stuff can’t give us real safety. Real strength and steadiness comes from faith, and any sacrifices we make are small compared to the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us.
