Galatians 5:13–15, 25, 26–6:5

The story of creation in Genesis tells us that it’s not good for people to be alone. We’re made to be like God, and God is all about relationships. But sin has messed up our relationships, causing hurt and separation. Even so, relationships are still part of what makes us human, and they can help us fix what’s been broken.

1. What is the problem?

Some of the bad stuff in relationships, like picking fights or being jealous, comes from feeling like we’re better or worse than others. Everyone, at some point, struggles with trying to prove they’re worth something and being scared of being overlooked. This is called “Kenodoxia,” and it shows that even the smartest people can still be prideful. It’s also important to know the difference between real love and just trying to get what we want, and to understand how sin affects us.

2. What is the solution?

Jesus shows us a different way to live, one that goes against our natural instincts. He willingly took on situations that showed His weaknesses and needs. When He died on the cross for us, He showed us how much we truly matter. Knowing this good news changes how we relate to others. It frees us from jealousy and fighting, and helps us to be brave and humble at the same time.
