Understanding Ephesians 1:3–14

In Ephesians, we learn about the amazing blessings and changes that come through knowing Jesus. The Bible shows us God’s big plan to bring everything and everyone together under Jesus, talks about what it really means to be saved, and how God makes us holy and part of his family. It also encourages us to think differently from the way many people in America do, reminding us that true happiness and overcoming loneliness come from understanding and following God’s plan.

1. God shows us his plan

Some people think it’s impossible to be sure about religious beliefs. But this is like saying they’re sure that it’s impossible to be sure! Jesus, on the other hand, shows us that God’s Word is solid and lasting. He tells us that God wants to share his truth with us.

2. He explains what the plan is

God wants to bring everything back into order under Jesus. This was how things were meant to be from the start, but everything got messed up when Adam and Eve decided they wanted to be in charge. Their choice led to all kinds of problems, from spiritual to psychological to social. But through Jesus, God plans to fix these problems and restore harmony.

3. He shows us how he makes his plan happen by being in control

When Adam and Eve decided to rule themselves, it didn’t just mess up their relationship with God; it also caused problems in nature and in their relationships with others. But God had a plan to fix this through Jesus. Jesus brings healing and fulfillment to every area of life. As Christians, we’re called to help spread his influence to all parts of society. This isn’t just about personal success or feeling good about ourselves; it’s about becoming more like Jesus and helping others to experience his love and power.
