Genesis 3:7–24

The tale of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden helps us understand why people often feel unhappy. It shows the dangers of making earthly things too important and how shame and feeling not good enough contribute to our sadness. God acts like a counselor in this story, helping people find out who they truly are and leading them to real, heartfelt apologies. These real apologies are different from just feeling bad because they recognize the hurt caused to others. The story ends by suggesting true freedom comes through saying sorry and experiencing God’s love.
