Overview
The transfiguration offers an interesting bookend to the manifestation of Jesus, which began at baptism. In both, there is a voice of divine approval and commissioning. In the baptism, Jesus shows Himself to be human, in the transfiguration, Jesus shows Himself to be far more than merely human. In this story, we see Jesus as the true Son of Man.
