Prayer is the heart engaged in loving awe and fear praise and adoration. Jesus arranges our prayer in such a way that begins by properly magnifying God, bringing the reality of who he is and who we are into proper perspective, before we rush to making requests. Prayer must consist of a balance of adoration and thanks, confession and repentance, as well as our expressions of reliance upon him for what we need. And all real prayer eventually results in praise, as the Psalms show. Adoration leads to peace.
