1 Peter 1:18–2:3

When we talk about being spiritually reborn, we’re talking about a big change in someone’s life that’s like growing from a baby to an adult. This change is something you can see in people who’ve experienced it, and it’s also a challenge to those who haven’t. We can learn more about this change, how to spot it, and how to help it happen.

1. How does spiritual growth happen?

Spiritual growth isn’t just about following rules – it’s a deep change in our hearts and souls that makes us more like Jesus. It’s not something that happens overnight, no matter how smart or grown-up you are. Just like a child needs a loving family and time to grow, our souls need the same.

2. What does spiritual growth look like?

You can tell someone’s growing spiritually if they love others who believe in Jesus and really understand how amazing it is that God loves and forgives us. This isn’t about just being a good person – it’s about knowing deep down that God loves us and forgives our sins, which changes how we see ourselves and other people.

3. How can we grow spiritually?

To grow spiritually, we need to remember the story of how Jesus died to save us. Our past and our culture can affect us a lot, like how a survivor of a concentration camp was affected when he met his captor. But faith can change us, too, if we really get into the story of how God redeems and saves us.
