Overview

If you got a letter on official letterhead saying a relative left you millions of dollars, how would you react? You’d rightly be skeptical. But you’d probably still give the law firm a call. The offer is too great to not look into it a little.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is like that. Most people don’t believe it. But the offer is so great, so unlike what any other religions offer. Only the resurrection of Jesus offers you a new body in a renewed world, made perfect in the land you’ve been longing for, walking with loved ones and God. It’s an offer too great to not look into it a little.

And there’s no better way to look into it than by looking at John 20, which shows how the resurrection of Jesus is 1) intensely rational, 2) merciful, 3) personal, and 4) wonderful.

Discover the deeper message in the parable of the Prodigal Son

In The Prodigal God, Tim Keller examines the way Jesus presents the parable to speak both to those who run from God and to those who try to earn his love by being good. It reveals the heart of the gospel—a message of hope for both the rebellious younger brother and the judgmental older brother, and an invitation for all to experience God’s grace.
