Matthew 16:21–27

Jesus’ words remind us to focus more on spiritual things rather than things of this world. He warns us not to lose our souls by chasing after worldly things. Here, the Greek word “psyche,” which means soul or life, is used to show the importance of finding our true selves and purpose in Jesus. It’s crucial to understand who Jesus is – the Son of God – and to realize the deep meaning of His suffering and death for the growth of God’s kingdom.
