Tim Keller | March 26, 1995
This sermon was preached by Timothy J. Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on Mar 26, 1995. Series: 1 John, Part 2 – MP3. Scripture: 1 John 2:28-3:6
Looking at 1 John 2:28 to 3:3, we discover that even during tough times, we can find deep joy by knowing God and following His word. This section also emphasizes how important it is to experience a spiritual change and rebirth in order to truly understand and reflect God. It reminds us of how Jesus’ teachings cover all areas of life, and how His perfect righteousness is something we can strive for, but never fully achieve. The core message here is that true righteousness comes from being spiritually reborn, which leads to genuine good deeds. As Christians, we’re encouraged to aim for excellence, feel God’s love, and recognize ourselves as God’s children.
