When we talk about preaching and sharing the Lord’s Supper, we’re really discussing two ways that God’s Word is shared with us. These practices remind us of the beautiful truth that we are redeemed, or bought back, through Jesus’ sacrifice. This idea of “redeem” is pretty important for us. It helps us face our feelings of being trapped or guilty, which we often don’t like to admit. It also helps us understand forgiveness, from God and from other people. We all want to be perfect, and that desire shows us how much we need a redeemer. This makes it vital to accept Jesus as our Savior, because it’s through Him that we find redemption and forgiveness.
