Tim Keller | April 22, 2001
Abraham’s story in Genesis shows us two important things: his significant role in many world religions and how he actively shaped his future, guided by God’s strong and life-changing call. This call is represented through Sarah’s inability to have children and it’s a big invitation to give up control, leave our comfort zones, and put God’s plan above our own wants. Just like this, being a Christian involves giving up, obeying God, having a goal to be a blessing to others, and trusting in God’s promises. This reflects the selfless love of Jesus.
