Luke 2:8–14

The story of the shepherds meeting an angel and Jesus being born shows us a theme of feeling scared and then comforted, even when things are dark. This highlights that being close to God brings out our fears. Our fears come from not trusting God completely. But, if we accept the happy message, the good news about Jesus Christ, we can get past these fears and discover real peace. Putting God first, before ourselves and others, is how we can truly find joy and satisfaction in life.
