Tim Keller | December 7, 2014
What little we learn about Joseph tells us he’s a pretty admirable guy.
On one hand, he’s faithful to the law of God, but on the other hand, he’s not self-righteous or punitive. He doesn’t want to expose Mary, so he plans to break their engagement quietly. But then he gets a revelation in a dream from the angel of the Lord.
We learn three things from the revelation itself: 1) the importance of the person of Jesus, 2) the importance of the doctrine of Jesus, and 3) the importance of the authority of Jesus.
