Tim Keller | February 2, 2003
“Who is this?” That question keeps coming up in the early chapters of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. As the wind and seas obey Jesus, and Jesus forgives sins, over and over this question is posed about him: “Who is this?”
Eventually, there’s a climactic place where the answer is given. That point is the transfiguration. It’s the climactic answer. And from that point on, Jesus turns to go toward Jerusalem to the cross.
To look at the transfiguration is one of the key ways you’re going to know 1) who Jesus is, 2) what he came to do, and 3) how to connect with him.
This Month's Featured Book
In The Prodigal God, Tim Keller examines the way Jesus presents the parable to speak both to those who run from God and to those who try to earn his love by being good. It reveals the heart of the gospel—a message of hope for both the rebellious younger brother and the judgmental older brother, and an invitation for all to experience God’s grace.
