Philippians 2:1–5

When people don’t get along, it’s usually because of internal issues, not because they don’t know better or lack good role models. Sometimes, we might think the answer is simple, or that just learning more can fix the problem. However, those solutions often fall short. The Bible shows us both what the real problem is and how to fix it. It’s important to understand the root cause if we want to solve it effectively.

1. The diagnosis

People often fight or split up because they’re being selfish and prideful. It’s important to be honest in our relationships, and not let our own desires cloud our understanding. By putting truth and fairness first, we can avoid unnecessary arguments and promote unity.

2. The remedy

The solution to our problems isn’t just having good role models, learning more, or being part of a loving family. The real solution comes from Christ. He faced our fears and pain, humbling himself so that we could share in his glory. By welcoming Christ into our lives, we can remember our true value. This helps us to be generous and caring towards others, while also taking care of ourselves, and that’s how we can overcome our biggest struggles.
