Before you can understand what Jesus came to do, you need to understand who Jesus is.
In Mark 1, we see the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. He gives his message in a nutshell. He calls his first disciples. And then he begins to embody his message in the way he ministers. There are few places in the Bible that give such a fruitful answer to the question of who Jesus is.
This passage teaches us six things about Jesus: 1) he’s the king, 2) he’s the king of your salvation, 3) he’s the king of your mind, 4) he’s the king of your heart, 5) he’s the king of your life path, and 6) he’s the king who can be trusted.
