In Ephesians, Paul outlines distinct characteristics of the Christian lifestyle, and one of the characteristics is to seek to use work and wealth to care for people in need — otherwise known as “mercy ministry.” This sermon unpacks the 1) Nature, 2) Necessity, 3) Dimensions, 4) Impact, and 5) Dynamic of mercy ministry for Christians.
Outline
Ephesians 4:25-32 teaches us how to live as Christians. It tells us that being honest, controlling our anger, working hard, speaking positively, and resisting bitterness are all important. But it also reminds us to be kind, forgiving, and merciful. These virtues are not just for our benefit, but they help us to make a positive difference in the world around us. Our faith should move us to act mercifully and generously towards others.
