In the Gospels, John the Baptist was the one who prepared people for Jesus — he showed people how to receive Jesus as the ultimate King. In this sermon, we will learn how we receive Jesus as King in our lives. We must 1) rely 2) obey, 3) relax, and 4) expect.
John the Baptist is trying to tell us that it’s really important to say sorry for the things we’ve done wrong and to change our ways. He’s also telling us to see Jesus not just as a friend, but as a King. He asks us to rely on Jesus and follow His rules. Even though God can sometimes do things we don’t expect, He is always good. He promises to lead us in the right direction and wants us to expect great things in our lives.
This Month's Featured Book
In Shaped by the Gospel, Dr. Keller shows how gospel-centered ministry is more theologically driven than program-driven. As you read, you’ll discover how reflecting on the essence, the truths, and the patterns of the gospel leads to renewal in your lives, churches and ministries.
