Counter-Culture for the Common Good

Counter-Culture for the Common Good

The Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount were addressed to a community of people. We can’t obey the Bible fully without belonging to a community who are doing the same thing – a new counter-culture, in which every area of our lives is shaped by the gospel and therefore somewhat distinct from those around us. This talk was originally given as training for lay leaders at Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Discover the deeper message in the parable of the Prodigal Son

In The Prodigal God, Tim Keller examines the way Jesus presents the parable to speak both to those who run from God and to those who try to earn his love by being good. It reveals the heart of the gospel—a message of hope for both the rebellious younger brother and the judgmental older brother, and an invitation for all to experience God’s grace.
